The 13 compositions of
Solar Maxima reflect moods and ideas associated with our Sun. Grigsby's music conjures visions of Apollo the sun god, ruminates over the 11 year solar cycle and its maximal solar flares, ponders the sun's terrestrial effects during dawn and dusk, and traces the Hopi prophecies of star-beings. For his second solo album, Grigsby once again teams up with sound designer Tim Corpus to realize his stellar compositions.

"An album of far-flung fusions, MTG's Infra Dig has magnificent musical moments and moments of giddy conceptual camp."
Marina La Palma, High Performance
"...a rigorous conceptual mania about Modern Life: People can't do anything in a flowing, linear manner because something's always interrupting. The phone rings A commercial comes on. The police have a shoot-out with the crack ring next door. Your wife hacks off your arm with the ceremonial sword from the living room wall ."
Greg Burk, Los Angeles Weekly
Inspired by magicians and their classic illusions
A set of thirteen compositions inspired by classic magicians
and their signature stage illusions and parlor tricks. Grigsby has a lifelong
fascination with the history of stage magic, especially the innovative
magicians associated with the classic period of magic in the late 19th
century. The
album liner notes include a short history of each of the thirteen illusions
that Grigsby has interpreted in sound.

"Careful crafting of styles and textures, impeccable interplay between musicians, strong thinking, and a sense of fun."
Dan Maryon, Option
"MTG are kind of like a "serious" chamber ensemble who have descended into a fine madness after listening to and fully digesting all sorts of ethnic third-world music, old Albert Ayler records, and Dr. Demento radio shows."
Jon Booth, Sound Choice
